Von Willebrand Factor Activity (GP1bM; Ristocetin-free)

Justification

VWF:GPIbM is considered to be more sensitive that the traditional VWF:RCo assay due to a recombinant mutation in GPIb in the assay reagent. Ristocetin is not needed due to the gain-of-function mutation in the reagent. The test is recommended for patient suspected of having very low levels (<20%) of VWF activity.
